How SuppleBoard reads the daily amount on a supplement label

For reference only. This is not a diagnosis or a prescription. If you have concerns, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.

The daily amount

SuppleBoard assumes you take each product as directed on its label.

When the label gives a range (for example, 1–2 tablets), SuppleBoard uses the higher amount.

The daily amount is the amount in one unit multiplied by the number of units a day stated on the label.

US product data come from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD).

When a product cannot be counted

If a label does not give a daily serving, SuppleBoard shows the product as one it cannot calculate and leaves it out of the total.

A product can also be left out when the label does not say how many times a day to take it, or lists several ways to take it so that one daily amount cannot be set.
